Metro League Baseball: What’s New for the 2025 Season?

Metro League Baseball provides opportunities for young people to play organized baseball.

If you’re looking for information about the league — how it works, how to participate, and what’s new — you’ve come to the right place.

Here’s a quick guide to Metro League Baseball.

League Operations and Participation

So you’re thinking about getting involved in the Metro Baseball League? Here’s what you need to know:

Scheduling and Registration

Coaches, mark your calendars! Scheduling for the 2025 season kicks off on April 2nd. Get in touch with your association field coordinator ASAP to get your games on the books.

And a reminder for everyone: players must be registered in the MBL system before they can be added to any team roster. No exceptions!

Training and Safety

Safety first, always. All coaches and any adults hanging out in the dugout need to have up-to-date concussion and Safe Sport training certificates. No excuses!

Looking to sharpen your skills before the season starts? Winter baseball training camp is available at Pitcher Perfect Academy. And because you’re part of the MBL family, use the code “March25” for a sweet 15% discount.

Volunteer Opportunities

Want to give back to the community? MBL teams can volunteer for the Miracle League’s Buddy Program. The Miracle League is an awesome organization that provides opportunities for kids and adults (ages three and up) with disabilities to play baseball.

Key League Initiatives and Events

The Metro Baseball League offers our players, coaches, and families several opportunities to grow and learn. Here are some of the key initiatives and events we have planned for the coming months:

  • Partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods: MBL is partnering with Dick’s Sporting Goods for a shop event from March 7-10.
  • Mental Performance Training: A virtual event with a mental performance coach from the Tampa Bay Rays is scheduled.
  • Coaching Clinics: Coaching clinics will be available on March 30. There will also be a coaches meeting on Feb. 4th at the Diamondhead Education Center.

Recent Season Highlights and Future Outlook

The 2024 MBL League Playoffs were a big success! The games were played at King, Hrbek, and Red Haddox fields.

Looking ahead to 2025, the MBL is prioritizing player safety. New rules will require players to rest based on how many pitches they throw, both during the regular season and the playoffs.

The Metro Baseball League continues to offer a fun, well-organized way for young athletes to learn and play baseball.
